 Bible Study

A helpful way to study the Bible is to study the appointed readings for each week. The readings are taken from the Revised Common Lectionary. The lectionary system is the work of two ecumenical bodies, The Consultation on Common Texts and the International English Language Liturgical Consultation.

The RCL is essentially a three-year system forming the basis for liturgical reading, originally based on the Roman Catholic Ordo Lectionum Missae. The Revised Common Lectionary is now in use by many churches, both Protestant and Catholic, in the United States and throughout the world.

You can find the appointed readings for each week at the Vanderbilt Divinity School's Online Library.
